The sun was drying. The soda was cooling. The boy is sweating.
A typical summer day.
“Why are you hanging out here?”
Hearing A’s question, Z sat down beside him and threw his school uniform into A’s arms.
“Just look for a rest.”
“You stink! Don’t you dare stay near me. Five-hundred yards from me please.”
“Come on!”
Z burst into crisp laughter and leaned upon A intimately, the Adam’s apple of him jogging up and down. A glanced through Z’s body swiftly and secretly swallowed a little bit.
He had to admit that Z was very good at playing basketball and showing off on that, at least far better than refraining himself from sleeping in classes.
“Hey, your teammates are calling. Why are you still here?”
A pushed Z softly towards the basketball field.
“All right. All right. It’s just—”
Z raffled his hair embarrassedly and turned his face to other directions to cover his blushing face.
“You don’t know how to play basketball, do you? I thought you would be bored sitting here and watching me play.”
Now it was A’s turn to glance at everywhere else.
“I won’t be bored. I could study here, unlike you. There you go. Hurry.”
“Wait for me! It won’t take long for me to win.”
Z ran towards his team, waving to A with a bright smile.
That smile must be even brighter than the sun above, or else how could it dazzle A for so long? Plus it was such a relief to know that they still got plenty of orange-smelling summer days like this to go in their coming years.
